Role: UX designer, UX Researcher
Client: Personal Project

Problem:
Many clients struggle finding a beauty professional nearby in a quick efficient manner and beauty professionals struggle advertising their work to the specific audience they are catering to. For the beauty professional, this app would connect them with potential clients, giving them an opportunity to reach a specific clientele and market their work. For the client, this app would help provide a more convenient way to search for a specialized beauty professional nearby in a way that is user-friendly.

Competing Companies: Instagram, Kijiji, Booksy
Issues with competitors: No Reviews, booking appointments is tediously done through messaging platform, not sorted efficiently by geography.

Personas were created to understand the target audience in order to shape the product strategy. This allowed us to discover the goals and motivations of our future users. This gave us insight into the features that should be prioritized within the application. Convenience seems to be an important factor in our archetypal users, so we considered that throughout the design process. Scenarios were also created to exemplify the type of situations where users would use our app.

Interviews were conducted for 50 individuals to determine the wants and needs of the target market regarding a beauty provider app. The participants varied in ethnicity, age, and occupation. There were 30 woman and 10 men, as the app is targeted towards women. This helped us determine the types of services we need to include in the application, along with the necessary search and booking features. The survey creator Typeform was used to gather the user data and feedback.
The results were organized into an affinity diagram.
Affinity Diagram/ Map was created to visualize user concerns and needs.
